By Mohamad Jamous, AR Palestinian Director

Today I want to share with you how I feel, a deeper cry for peace.
I am writing to you with tears streaming down my face.
I am writing to tell you about my feelings, and the sad feelings that are on my mind.

Two weeks of intense anger and tension covered all over the Holy Land
Very high tensions, that would increase hatred, racism and violence at a time when we need every minute of it to continue the struggle and work for peace and justice.

Two weeks of fear and pain felt by every Palestinian and Israeli in this holy land.

Every soul lost is a whole world extinguished, every serious injury is a life destroyed, and every explosion is an entire family or an entire building full of people.

Rockets here and there, random bullets between houses, gas bombs everywhere;

Demonstrations, protests, rallies and flags;

Children crying, women protecting, waiting for this bloody war to stop so that the flowers will sprout again in the fields of peace.

This land has always witnessed many challenges and obstacles, small and big.

This land has suffered for many years in all kinds of conflicts and wars
And every time we overcome these obstacles, why? Because we are full of hope.

We have worked for many years in building peace and achieving the best for the two peoples, and we have never lost hope, and no matter how far hope may seem, it is closer than we imagine.

Hope is that ray that shines from among the clouds, illuminating the sky around us, and it is the first threads of the sun that heralds the dawn of a new day.

A new day tells me to get up! You have to keep working, get up! You must work for peace.

You have to work to draw a smile and joy on the faces of our children, our women, our elders, and our youth.

We deserve a decent life, we deserve a life full of love, equality and the fulfillment of the dreams we have always dreamed of.

We will not allow a small group of people to destroy what we built so many years ago, we will not let them ruin our dreams, our ambitions, our humanity, our hopes, and our first and only goal of making peace.

We have already proven and are still proving that we are capable of overcoming all crises.

We will remain peacemakers, defying all kinds of obstacles and difficulties
We will remain peacemakers, carrying in our hands the torch of hope, to illuminate the hearts of all believers in the world.

We will remain peacemakers illuminating all the dark stations,
and our programs will continue regardless of any circumstance.

Today I want to thank you for being there, all over this world,
To do everything you can do for peace and justice,
To do everything you can for the good of humanity and all the creatures of this world.
Wherever you are on this earth, whatever your faith or your way, you are my sister, my brother.
We are all just one soul.
Whatever the pain of one of us is the pain of all of us.
Whatever is the joy of one of us is the joy of each one of us.
So let me thank you.
Thank you for being there.
