Thank you to all who have responded so far to the attack on one of our Co-Founders, Khalil Albaz, Muezzein of the Bedouin Community in Tel Sheva. This was shocking to all of us — and our response, to strengthen our peacebuilding, is needed to show peacebuilders will not be intimidated by violence.

Know that Khalil is well, recovering at home with his wife and fellow AR Co-Founder Sana Albaz, and that they have security watching over them. None of the five stab wounds threatened any of his vital organs or function, thankfully, as he was able to shout for help and protect himself until neighbors came outside and scattered the attackers.

Khalil wants to share some of his experience and thoughts with the Abrahamic Reunion community on Zoom. As it’s Ramadan, we’ll meet with Khalil before they break the fast in Israel, and are having some nice food delivered to him and his family as part of the event for their Iftar (breaking of the fast) meal.
