Join the Abrahamic Reunion celebration of a shared fast day in the Muslim and Jewish calendars, July 5th. The Jewish fast day of Yud Zayin b’Tammuz (beginning the three weeks of mourning for the destruction of Jerusalem) falls during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
We will gather at 6:00 PM for opening blessings by Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious leaders, talks about the meaning of these holy days in each tradition, dialogue in listening circles… the spirit of the shared fast day will perhaps bring some understanding between the wounded family of Abraham.
Shortly after 8:00 PM we will share a catered kosher (and halal) meal. Closing the evening will a concert of sacred music (appropriate for the 3 weeks).
Joining will be Israelis and Palestinians from Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Galilee, and international friends.
You MUST RSVP to reserve a space in the meal.
Please offer a donation of NIS 80-100 to help cover meal.
and event costs.
