2023 Iftar in Jerusalem: “The Light and Faith of Peace”
Celebrating Ramadan, Passover, Easter, and Zirayat al-Nabi Shuayb
I think people don’t really understand, fully, how a dinner, how an evening can change the process of peace in Israel.
Israel and Palestine are very oral countries – people talk to each other, people share stories with each other – people share images with each other.
So we chose 200 people, we could have chosen 2000 people easily – we chose 200 people who are really key in spreading the message.
You notice there are a lot of women – women really share with each other, really share the teaching, and they will go back to their communities and share what happened.
There are young people here, many of them are volunteers, helping to put the event on.
There are teachers, there are clergy, there are people from the four major faiths, and others.
It’s really important that we create seeds that sprout at this Iftar, and those sprouted seeds go back and create peace, not just in the physical world, but psychically and spiritually as well.
So, if you can help – and I know you can help, everybody can help – it costs us about $20,000 to put the Iftar on, and we have to raise this.
So please, if you can help us, I know there are many worthy causes, but at this time when peace is so important and peace is so possible, we really are asking for your help.
So, in advance – thank you.
One more thing – think, “In unison, united with the will of God, we will to have peace.” If we put our wills together with the will of God, we will have peace.
Thank you,
David Less
